Sign In and Access Levels (Super Admin vs Org Admin)

Overview

This guide explains how to sign in to the platform and how access levels work for Super Admins and Org Admins.

Prerequisites

  • A valid user account (email and password), or an external auth link that provides a code query parameter.
  • Your organization must grant you Super Admin or Org Admin permissions if required for your tasks.

Sign In with Email and Password

  1. Navigate to the home page provided for your application.
  2. Click on the VR logo.
  3. Enter your email address and your password.
  4. Choose your device and authentication method from the Multi-factor authentication page.
  5. Once authentication succeeds, you will be redirected to the Apps page.

When the system authenticates your credentials successfully, it saves:

  • A secure session token
  • A flag for whether you are a Super Admin
  • A flag for whether you are an Org Admin

These values are used to authorize access across the application during your session.

Access Levels

Super Admin

  • Full administrative access across the platform.
  • Can access the Super Admin area and perform high-level management tasks (e.g., view sessions, manage apps and organizations).
  • The Super Admin area requires both a valid session token and Super Admin status.

Org Admin

  • Administrative access scoped to your organization.
  • Can manage organization-level settings and resources (e.g., access to Manage Organization pages).
  • Requires a valid session token and Org Admin status.

General User

  • Access to applications and features assigned by organizational policies.
  • No access to Super Admin or Org Admin sections.

Logging Out

  • Logging out clears the session token and role flags.
  • If you encounter access issues after role changes, logging out and back in ensures your permissions are refreshed.

Troubleshooting

  • Access denied after sign-in: Your account may not have the required role. Contact your administrator.
  • Session expired message: If the system reports your session is no longer valid, return to the login page and sign in again.
  • Stuck on login or redirected: Ensure pop-up blockers or extensions aren’t interfering with the sign-in flow.

Conclusion

Use your email/password or an external authorization link to sign in. Your access in the platform is determined by Super Admin or Org Admin roles assigned to your account. If you are missing access you believe you should have, contact your administrator to review your role assignments.
